High Growth Coach John Wells, MBA, FIC, FCMI, F.Inst.I.B, CIMCA, has over thirty years wide-ranging business expertise gained from working at senior management level in the UK and Europe.  Since 2000, working as an independent consultant John has assisted, mentored, coached and helped over 100 high-growth companies and SMES develop strategies, access finance, develop and grow. John is passionate in helping people and organisations grow, develop and improve and there is no greater satisfaction he gets than to see these people and organisations prosper.

As a CIMA trained accountant John began his career working for British Leyland before moving to International Computers Ltd where he help various financial roles including Financial Controller and Group Investment Analysis Manager.

During his 24 years at ICL John also held the positions of Factory / Plant Manager, Strategy Manager, Quality Manager / Director, IT Director, HR Director and Programme Director – Directed implementation of Corporate IT systems and managed a multi-national team bringing together ICL’s computer network under central control; Helped set up and launch new Key Customer Sales Channel

Career

Business Experience

John has wide-ranging business expertise gained from working at senior management level in the UK and Europe, including:

Programme Director – helped set up and launch new Key Customers Sales Channel.  Directed implementation of Corporate IT systems and managed a multinational team bringing together ICL’s computer networks under central control.

Personnel Director- managed a team covering all human resource management activities. Successfully introduced management development scheme, new and improved pension scheme and management team bonuses.

Quality Director – managed the planning, facilitation, implementation and maintenance of a TQM system throughout ICL Denmark.

Information Systems Director – managed a team operating ICL Denmarks companies’ networks and successfully implemented new systems in finance and logistics, email, marketing and an Intra / Internet.

Various Financial Controllerships for ICL, at one time I manageda teamof 65, responsible for all financial and cost accounting at four separate sites.

Other responsibilities included longer-term strategic planning and the establishment of business plans to support the Division’s strategies and control of some £180M+ of inventories, the management of site facilities, including maintenance, security, telecommunications and canteen facilities for a site employing 1800 and managing a Manufacturing plant employing 1200 people.

Coaching Experience: John is passionate about helping people and organisations grow, develop and improve and there is no greater satisfacion he gets than to see these people and organisations prosper.
In order to ensure John’s expertise is upto date he is dedicated to life long learing and personal development. Since 2007 he has been the Institute of Consulting, West Midland Regional Chair.

Since 2000, by networking with Financial Organisations, Business Link, Banks, Venture Capitalists, Invoice Financing etc., John has helped several businesses access circa £2m finance, which has created and saved jobs (circa 100 to 150)
